Legal Secretary

We are looking for a specialised legal secretary or paralegal to join our litigation team in 2026. The successful candidate will support directors and associates by managing litigation administration, court processes, legal correspondence, client onboarding, court bundle preparation, billing, and general file management while ensuring compliance with court directives.

Eligibility

The candidate should hold a senior certificate and a minimum of at least 2 years litigation experience, and possess the following skills:

Strong command of Microsoft – Teams, Excel and Word.

The ability to consistently produce high-quality work with a keen focus on attention to detail.

Be able to work independently and exercise discretion.

Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects relating to court processes and civil litigation

Advanced typing and Olympus dictation skills (45 words per minute minimum).

Possess well developed interpersonal, communication skills
and the ability to work in a team focuses on excellence and take
instructions.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing all forms of correspondence and communication efficiently.

  • Working with Court Online and CaseLines.

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable practice directives and court practice manuals.

  • Drafting and summarising correspondence and emails.

  • Maintaining accurate filing systems and office records.

  • Assisting with client onboarding and FICA compliance.

  • Preparing court bundles, including indexing and pagination.

  • Liaising with the finance department to resolve invoice queries.

  • Attending to billing and administrative financial tasks.

  • Supervising and supporting junior staff when required.
